Scott has been in the industry since 2000. Before joining Baird in May 2019, he spent nearly two decades as a wholesaler, most recently with Legg Mason, serving broker-dealer and independent advisor channels across Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Louisiana. Across his career, he has met with more than 5,000 unique advisor practices, giving him an unusually wide-angle view of what separates good practices from great ones.

At Baird, Scott has built a data-driven coaching framework that pinpoints the behavioral and performance gaps separating top-performing practices from the rest, paired with a sequenced roadmap advisors can work through to close them. He also co-designed Baird’s last two Growth Forums, both focused on quality new client acquisition.

Education/Licensing

Scott earned his Bachelor of Arts in Management from Texas Christian University. He holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation from The Wharton School, earned in 2003, and is a member of the Investments & Wealth Institute (formerly IMCA). He also holds the FINRA Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses.

Personal

Family and faith come first for Scott. His son, Gunnar (20), is a commercial pilot working toward his Certified Flight Instructor rating. His daughter, McKinley (18), is a high school senior preparing to graduate this spring. Outside of that, Scott plays bass guitar and rarely passes up live music. He hikes, off-roads, trains in the gym, and travels when his schedule allows.
